Slow Mousepointer in VMware Console on Windows 2008 (R2)

Bad mouse “performance” can be caused by the wrong mouse driver. The mouse driver should be “VMware Pointing Device”. It seems like the VMware mouse driver is installed on the VM but not used. I had to manually change the mouse driver in all cases I had so far.

The driver can be found in the VMware Tools directory
%program files%\Vmware\VMWare Tools\Drivers\mouse

Little Update:
Another problem for the slow performance might also be the wrong driver for the Video Adapter. Even after installing VMware Tools the driver was “Standard VGA”. I changed that to “VMware SVGA 3D Driver” (Found in %program files%\Common Files\Vmware\drivers\wddm_video) rebooted the server and everything went totally smooth.
